I haven’t worked out at all this week, but it’s for good reason. On and off last week I was having some very minor chest pains, mostly on the left side. Didn’t really think anything of it except for the one time it was pretty bad during a running session. Then on Sunday, it was more noticeable and this time, I was feeling pain in my left arm as well. Needless to say I was freaking out a little bit. So I decided to just take the week off to see if it got better and if it didn’t, I would call the doctor. Normally, I would have just called the doctor but thanks to my shitty insurance I decided to wait. (Let’s get on this thing Congress…decent health insurance would be nice. But I digress…)
So for the last few days I’ve just been taking it easy, chilling at home and not doing anything too strenuous. Luckily, I’ve been feeling better every day since so I’m going to start getting back into the gym, but I’m going to take it slow. I’m not going to do the C25K training this week. Just going to use the eliptical and exercise bike like I used to do.
Also, I’m going to try and get back into the YRG Fitness system. YRG stands for “Yoga For Regular Guys” and was started by a former pro wrestler named Diamond Dallas Page. Sounds weird, but it’s actually really cool. I bought the old DVD they put out a while ago but I just couldn’t get into a routine of doing it.
They’ve got a whole new fitness system now so I told myself I’d buy it if I could consistently use the DVD I currently have for three months. I’m going to start tomorrow and the plan is to use it on the days I’m not doing the 5K training. So we’ll see how that goes.
Not weighing in tomorrow. I’ve got stuff to get done around the house, including take a walk if it’s not raining. I’ve been wanting to do that so badly since the weather’s been nicer but I just haven’t had the chance. Here’s hoping.

Hey Alex. I am so proud you will be running a 5k. I want to run a 5k soon. And I would if I didn’t do a minor sprain on my right ankle 2nd last weekend in Feb. So I’m taking an easy and just walking with an ace wrap and biking when I can. I hope this damn foot heals so I can start running intervals again. Running intervals is the easiest way for get back in shape for running. I run 2 on/off for 30 mins and by the end I feel exhausted but next few times it gets easier and easier until Im back in shape and running a solid amount of time.! Good luck!
